What is City's Best?

AOL's City's Best program features the best entertainment options that each city has to offer - everything from Best Burgers and Best Pizza to Best Dance Clubs and Best Happy Hour - in 40 markets across the United States.

The votes of the people (you) ultimately determine which venues are chosen #1 in their categories.

Who picked the City's Best nominees?

City's Best nominees are chosen by AOL CityGuide's editorial team, AOL CityGuide's editorial insights and user feedback.

What criteria were used for picking nominees?

Every city has thousands of things to see, do, visit and experience, but there are different reasons why a place or event might stand out to a CityGuide editor.

Sometimes, it's a commitment to quality, selection or service. Often, it's because of a consistent reputation for value that has been upheld and polished over many years. Sometimes, it's simply that people in a city naturally gravitate to a place because of its character, its uniqueness or its special contribution to local culture.

The choices are not related to, or influenced by, advertising or partner relationships.

Who decides the City's Best winners?

Answer: You!

From noon ET on May 8, 2008 to midnight ET on Jul 10, 2008, Web users are invited to vote daily for one City's Best nominee per category per city. User votes submitted by Jul 10 will be tallied, thereby ranking the nominees and determining the number one winner in each category in each city. Results will be revealed on or after Jul 22, 2008.

Users may vote in as few or as many categories as preferred, and in categories in cities other than their own. For example, Dallas users may vote in San Francisco and vice versa. See Official Rules for complete details.

How many times may I vote?

From May 8, 2008 to Jul 10, 2008, users may vote once per day per category per city.

Can I vote for City's Best using my mobile phone?

New for 2008 is City's Best mobile voting, with two categories exclusive to mobile - Best Restaurants and Best Bars. Go to wap.aol.com/citysbest and vote once a day for your favorites. Airtime charges may apply, please refer to your individual mobile carrier plan for more information.

When will the winners be announced?

The 2008 City's Best winners will be announced on or after Jul 22, 2008.

How often are the lists updated?

City's Best is an annual program, and therefore the 2008 nominees and winners will not change until 2009. If any businesses should close or change significantly during the year, we will review and update the pages accordingly.

I'm a nominee. Where can I find more details?

Local businesses that have been nominated or have won are encouraged to visit the City's Best Business Resource Center, which will provide free logos for download and suggestions for publicizing your selection as one of the best in your city.
